Just wanted to share my love of it all with everyone! =) This blog will mainly be those kinds of things, but may also have the odd one or two about random stuff, maybe my pets, or a new gadget I buy!

Glossybox - June 2011

The other day I received my first Glossybox! I was so excited to receive this after all the hype of the May box! I was too late subscribing so missed out on the May box, but was excited for the June one :)

I want to make this "initial thoughts" post as fair as possible instead of actual initial thoughts, and I will explain why further into the post :)

Glossybox (for those who don't know) is a new company who's aim is to provide a box each month with 5 high end luxury samples for anyone to try! The US equivalent of this is Birchbox.

The box itself is beautiful and the attention to detail is outstanding. I am a mega sucker for the little details and packaging so this in itself impressed me!

Here is a couple of pictures of the external packaging and the box itself:

When you open the box it is beautifully wrapped in tissue paper with the ribbon and the sticker with the Glossybox logo on and when you open it it comes with a card telling you what is in the box and some info/discount cards for some of the brands in the box:

Now for what's in the Glossybox! Every month you get 5 high end deluxe samples, this month everyone seemed to get a different selection of products. These were my 5:

Abahna white grapefruit and may chang bath and shower gel. I really like the smell of this and it is a lovely trial size!

Perles De Lalique perfume sample. I really love the smell of this too, a lot of people don't like it, but I do!

OPI mini nail polish in Coronation. It's OPI and it's sparkly, need I say more! <3

BioEffect EGF Serum - really looking forward to trying this one, this size sample is valued at about £40 I believe!

Batiste original dry shampoo - travel size.

There has been a lot of negativity surrounding this box, mainly due to the Batiste dry shampoo as it is not luxury, not high end, and is available pretty much everywhere. I do believe it was wrong of them to send us this as it is advertised (and the whole point of the idea..) that was we were to receive high end samples. BUT what I feel some people may forget is that Glossybox is a brand new company and we cannot expect everything to be perfect straight off, I know they have had a lot of feedback from a lot of people surrounding this box and I feel that as long as they listen to the feedback and don't put anything this cheap in the boxes again they will be fine :)

I was a bit gutted I didn't get a RBR lipgloss, but overall I am really happy with this box and so will be carrying on my subscription and hoping the next box is even better! :)

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque

Hey everyone!
So, the other day I decided to buy the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque.

I  LOVE IT!

I had heard a lot of good things about it, but as it was just short of £20 it wasn't the cheapest of hair masques, but I am so glad I got it.

It says on the tub "Revitalizing hair reconstructor for dry, damaged hair" and that is totally what it did! My hair isn't overly dry or overly damaged, but we could all do with a little extra conditioning now couldn't we? :)

It is a thick cream and has a lovely smell - I am useless at describing smells... but I can tell you that it is a lovely fragrance :)

To use - you comb it into clean wet hair, and leave on for up to 7 minutes and then rinse out and not to use it more than twice a week. I personally think I will only use it once a week, or once a fortnight and use a different one on the in between week!

All in all I definitely would recommend this product as it makes your hair so shiny and smooth and smelling lovely too (plus cruelty free which makes everything better)!!

Both of these palettes are extremely pigmented and each come with two eyeliners and a mini primer potion.
